The "Free flow" Information

After the Wold War II, the notion of the free market theory within the capitalist’s regime, as the socialist’s one, has been emerged and became a part of the cold war speeches. For the capitalists, the principal goal of this theory was to promote democracy, freedom of expression and market. While the Marxists opted for a state regulation and media outlets.
This concept displayed the Western countries willingness to abolish the censorship and the propaganda used by the communists. The free market was essentially created for free market in order to sell and buy whatever proprietors wished. The media resources and and capital are located in the West; however, the proprietors are from Western countries, thing which made why their government, and national business community do beneficiate more.
The concept of “free flow” was also created to serve from a political and an economical purpose. Indeed, it works on dissuading others to erase the trade barriers in order to make the news and programs easier to access. They also insured the democracy and freedom of expression and market. In what concerns the freedom of the market, the goods and services were advertised and marketed in order to be sold in foreign countries. Those tools are also used in order to display the Western (especially US) life style and the value of capitalism and individualism at the international level.
The free flow resulted in an unreciprocated influence of Western media on the global market with helping the West in their battle with the Soviet Union.
I personally think that, the “free flow” of information is fundamental within our lives. In fact, it has allowed the Internet to bloom into what is has became today. The Free flow information has been designed so that global information flows would be dictated by efficiency, rather than being controlled or centralized. This theory has provided many fields with access to the information, and services wherever those resources may be located around the world.
This generated a wide range of positive impacts regarding politics, where the freedom of speech and the democracy were implemented in addition to the economic aspect which leaded to an increase in selling goods and services.
Nowadays, the internet is the most used tool for research as well as sharing information. Beyond the political and economic impact that have created the free flow information, its effect on innovation today is unambiguously. In fact, it allows the sharing of information, ideas, knowledge, and the ease the collaboration of individuals or businesses regardless of geographic boundaries. Also, the ability of transferring data across borders nourish the companies’ abilities for innovation.
However, the number of digital restriction has been increased through time with valorizing certain areas to others. This can be seen as empowering certain regions and marginalizing others. Those restrictions can hinder the innovation and increase coasts for the concerned countries. Therefore, it can be viewed as a form of inequality.

We can finally say that the free flow of information has many positive sides which make our world look smaller and therefore interactions easier. Yet, inequalities exist even in this field.
