Even though Western cultural globalization has allowed major and important developments all around the world, it also had create discontent in countries, specifically Islamic ones. In fact, many countries such as China or Iran, want to restrict the Western reception of television through licensing regimes judging the content inappropriate due to sexual content or to how the women is represented in the media. For example, in Asia, the Western culture displayed through television is seen as undermining traditional values as for China, the Disney movie Mulan was delayed because the government didn’t like or appreciate the portrayal of the Chinese culture made in the movie. Instead of preferring Western cultural content, India and China choose to reinforce their own culture and values through TV. The Walt Disney company is considered as being the largest media corporation after the Time Warner. This organization is interested in four major fields: media networks, studio entertainment, consumer products and parks and resorts. It does also own ABC which is represent of the biggest TV network in USA, in addition to 10 local TV stations and 72 of this country. The two cables of WD are Disney Channel and Toon. WD has a huge impact in today’s world countries (300 homes within 120 countries worldwide 2006). In addition to its subscribers (120 millions). In what concerns the area of telecommunication, WD has a global presence within many countries such as Japan, Brazil, Austria… The company implemented also a supplement digital cable while increasing its investments.   Last week, my classmates and I have attended a workshop given by Leslie Jacobson entitled Devising Theatre for Social Change: Exercises and Strategies. The workshop began by introducing us to the different kinds of communication which are: art, theater, music, sculptures etc. She also emphasized on the fact that the music is the most powerful expressive art and highlighted its importance in expressing emotions. This workshop was mainly about displaying the ways of getting our voice away with effectively transmitting the message through body languages and posture. In the first part of the workshop, Leslie Jacobson settled up the class into a round circle so everyone sees and can be seen by each others and asked us some questions.
