The Walt Disney Company

The Walt Disney company is considered as being the largest media corporation after the Time Warner. This organization is interested in four major fields: media networks, studio entertainment, consumer products and parks and resorts. It does also own ABC which is represent of the biggest TV network in USA, in addition to 10 local TV stations and 72 of this country. The two cables of WD are Disney Channel and Toon. WD has a huge impact in today’s world countries (300 homes within 120 countries worldwide 2006). In addition to its subscribers (120 millions). In what concerns the area of telecommunication, WD has a global presence within many countries such as Japan, Brazil, Austria… The company implemented also a supplement digital cable while increasing its investments. One the other hand, the organization is also interested in the printed media with publishing more than 20 magazines. Further, WD owned also several recording studios while having distinguishable theme parks and resorts and interesting gaming. Moreover, WD holds more than 40 websites with developing new digital platforms encompassing its deal with Apple and Disney Channel content on the Apple iPod besides other services such as Disney Mobile…
According to this, I can say that Disney has become a huge international bridge across all human beings can have access. This company has an influential global impact on our societies since it has used all the communications aspects (see above). In fact, we all know about Disney and used to watch its movies which have the aim at establishing our moral background and transmit ethics and the appropriate behaviors to adopt for children. Indeed, children see the societies as its displayed within Disney cartoon: cruelty, happiness, wretchedness, poverty, beauty etc. Life’s values and challenges are displayed to children through Disney cartoons, and the adult have the goal to explain to them what is the true moral of each movie. This situation generates also a parent-child relationship.

Disney does also provide us with some various movies that shows the diversity of the world. In fact, some movies show the American societies, others Arabic ones, Japanese, Indian and so on. These aspects display Disney interest and its importance to all societies thing which result on the mass culture. Even if its an “utopian” view of the reality but the movies provided by Disney show the moral and ethics to adopt by children since they are very influenced by such movies. Disney represent a huge impact on today’s societies and merged rapidly through time and generations.
